About me
Training, Qualifications & Experience
I trained as a Humanistic Psychotherapist at HOMA, completing 744 hours of face-to-face training. My training emphasised compassionate, relational therapy alongside a strong commitment to social justice. This means that I am attentive to how power, difference and social inequalities can show up in the therapy room between us, and how these dynamics might be experienced or shape our work together.
Prior to private practice, I worked as a psychotherapist at The Swan Project for people with addictions and as a counsellor at Willows Counselling Service.
Before training as a psychotherapist, I worked in human resources, supporting organisations to nurture talent, foster growth, and create workplaces where colleagues feel engaged and supported. During that time, I completed an ICF accredited Diploma in Coaching.
I also took time out of paid employment to raise my children, a period that deepened my understanding of the importance of self-parenting; the practice of tending to my own emotional needs while caring for others. This experience has profoundly influenced my approach to therapy, highlighting the necessity of self-compassion and conscious parenting in breaking generational patterns and fostering healing.
I value being a visible and accountable therapist. As well as attending regular supervision and ongoing personal and professional development, I have attended the following:
Decolonising our therapy
Certificate in neuro-affirming practice
The therapeutic frame
Facilitator training with Beyond Chocolate - Empowering you to know and trust your body
Weight stigma, anti-fat bias and diet culture in the therapy room
Working with intersections of privilege and otherness
I am a member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP).
I am committed to creating an environment that supports inclusivity and respect of all people regardless of race, colour, culture, religion, spiritual practice, sex, age, body size, gender identity or gender expression.
How I work
Every therapy session is different, shaped by the unique connection between two people in that moment.
For me, therapy is about conversation and connection. Most of our time together will be spent talking—exploring, reflecting, and processing whatever you bring. I listen closely, not just to your words, but also to what’s unspoken, what shows in your body, and what is happening between us in the here and now.
My approach is humanistic, drawing from Gestalt, Person-Centred practice, Transactional Analysis, and Formative Psychology, grounded in both somatic (body) and relational traditions.
I won’t interpret, explain, or diagnose you. Instead, we’ll notice patterns in your thoughts, behaviours, and relationships, uncover insights, and develop practical skills that support growth and meaningful change.
Who I work with
I’ve supported people dealing with:
Anxiety and over-thinking
Depression, sadness and low mood
Grief and loss
Confidence issues and low self-esteem
Body image issues
Anti-fat bias and fat phobia
Disordered eating and relationship with food
Bullying
Trauma and abuse
Feeling lost
Stress
Parenting
Anger
Boundary challenges, people-pleasing
Relationship difficulties.
The areas listed above aren’t a complete list of what we can work on. If your concerns aren’t mentioned, you’re welcome to get in touch and we can talk more about what support might look like.
I offer an initial session to help you decide whether I’m the right therapist for you. This gives us space to discuss what you’re hoping for from therapy and how we could work together.
“I define connection as the energy that exists between people when they feel seen, heard, and valued: when you can give and receive without judgment: and when they derive sustenance and strength from the relationship”
— Brene Brown
